Public website analytics
Optional anonymous analytics only start after you choose to allow them. When enabled, PostHog EU receives public page visits, visits to explicitly labelled page sections and a small set of interactions, such as opening a source or choosing to apply for membership. Search text, URL parameters, email addresses, page text and form contents are excluded. Anonymous identifiers are kept in browser memory rather than used to recognise you on a later visit, and we do not connect membership identity to analytics.
We do not collect heatmaps or session recordings. Private forms, authentication, member and admin areas, surveys, FOI drafting and tracking, and Get Involved workflows are excluded from analytics.
You can change your choice using “Privacy choices” at the bottom of the page. Rejecting optional tracking does not prevent you from using the website. Your choice is stored in your browser so we can respect it.
Contact enquiries
When you use the contact form, your name, email address, subject, selected topic and message are emailed to the relevant campaign inbox so we can handle your enquiry and reply. The form does not create a member account or subscribe you to a newsletter. Your message is not published through the contact form. Contact messages are handled as campaign correspondence; contact hello@teachers4perm.com to discuss access, correction or deletion.
Draft text stays in this page until you send it or choose to open it in your email app; refreshing the page clears an unsent draft. We use a verification challenge and limited technical request information to prevent abuse. The contact page is excluded from optional analytics. If sending fails, the page keeps your text so you can copy it or email it directly.
Email updates
Subscribing is separate from membership, though you can choose to create an account at the same time. We store your email, any details you choose to add (your name, council area and whether you are a probationer, supply, temporary or permanent teacher or a supporter, which we use to send relevant updates), confirmation state, the consent wording and date, the page you signed up on, and a record of which updates were sent to you. A confirmation email verifies your request before you become subscribed. Every update includes an unsubscribe link, which works at any time, including from your email app’s own unsubscribe button. If emails to your address bounce or are reported as spam, we stop sending to it. We use Resend, or Brevo if configured instead, to deliver these emails. We do not add members or story contributors automatically. Contact hello@teachers4perm.com to ask for your subscription record to be erased.
Membership and teacher stories
Membership privacy information describes the private workspace. Teacher submissions use separate publication consent and review. Private contact details and original submissions are never added to public page metadata or search feeds.
Survey accounts
Survey accounts are optional and separate from newsletters. We store your email and password securely through Supabase Auth, require email confirmation, and store your saved survey responses and in-progress drafts against your account so you can return to them on another device. Creating an account links saved responses to your account; the account email is not shown in public findings or ordinary survey response review screens. You can use surveys without an account and continue to use a private save-and-return link instead.
MSP letters and replies
The Get Involved letter builder keeps personal details and letter text in browser memory. Reloading clears the draft. Postcode lookup sends your postcode to Postcodes.io to identify Scottish Parliament areas and suggest a council; the campaign does not save searches. Get Involved pages are excluded from optional analytics.
Choosing “Confirm I sent this email” records the MSP, council area your letter concerns and sent date. The public confirmation does not upload your letter or personal contact details. Approved members see aggregate council and MSP counts. A confirmation reference is kept in this tab’s session storage so retries are not counted again and you can undo it. If you link it to your member correspondence, its record becomes associated with that account; it is counted only once. Counts are self-reported and include separately confirmed follow-ups.
When you share an MSP reply, your email, original text and optional PDF or screenshot are stored privately for authorised reply reviewers. Submission does not subscribe you to updates. Publication requires separate permission and a reviewed, anonymised summary or excerpt. Original files are never published. Contact hello@teachers4perm.com with your reference to request correction or withdrawal. Unsubmitted upload tickets expire after 30 minutes; abandoned files are removed by the upload cleanup process.
FOI suggestions and draft requests
When you suggest a question or prepare an FOI, we store your contact details, submitted wording, supporting files and private conversation so the campaign can review the request and keep you informed. Member drafts are private until submitted. Public suggestions enter review after email verification. Supporting files are included in outgoing correspondence only when an organiser chooses them. Campaign correspondence and findings require review before wider publication.
We use Resend for transactional FOI confirmations and progress emails. This does not subscribe you to newsletters. Public access links expire after 24 hours and create a private session lasting up to seven days. FOI submission and tracking pages are excluded from analytics. Abandoned upload tickets expire after three hours and their unclaimed files are cleaned up. Contact hello@teachers4perm.com with your request reference to discuss access, correction or deletion.
TikTok videos
The videos page can show campaign TikTok clips using TikTok’s official player. Posters on that page are hosted by us. Choosing play loads content from TikTok, which may set its own cookies. You can watch the same clips on TikTok instead. Optional website analytics are separate from TikTok’s player.
Essential services
Authentication, abuse prevention and hosting may process technical information required to operate and secure the site. Optional tracking preferences do not disable these functions. Contact us if you want to understand or exercise your data rights.
