These figures show the complete failure of Fiona Hyslop on teacher numbers.

Census figures showed 52,993 teachers in Scotland, 1,348 fewer than a year earlier, prompting Labour leader Iain Gray to demand Fiona Hyslop's sacking and the Tories to say 2,000 fewer teachers were employed than in 2007.
