Councils don’t care. You are a number to them. It took me a very long time to get permanency and even then I had to fight through the union to get it.

I have applied for other full time jobs as a teacher of 10 years plus SQA/QS marker and item writer and not been successful and sometimes not even had an interview, there have been over 100 applicants for a post at times.
