Same census year, sector and unit for every council. Employment type describes the post, which can differ from the employee’s contract. Temporary excludes the TIS subset. These figures do not measure all aspects of job security.
The 2025 workbook records a minor Fife submission error of fewer than 10 FTE; the publisher assessed the effect as negligible and did not revise the published tables. This dataset retains those published values.
FOI series retain the authority’s own definitions and cohorts. They appear on council and topic pages; cross-council comparisons here use the consistent official census measure.
