It feels like quite often we go for interviews only to be overlooked in favour of an internal candidate. This feels like a waste of time as the school has already decided prior to interview in most occasions.

The number of applicants for some roles makes it feel impossible. I know that in some instances there has been over 100 applications received for some History jobs. It feels like getting a job in this situation is impossible.

I have applied for other full time jobs as a teacher of 10 years plus SQA/QS marker and item writer and not been successful and sometimes not even had an interview, there have been over 100 applicants for a post at times.
