In Aberdeenshire I had built up to 2 years continuous service. They refused my application for permanency. If continuous service is one of the main ways for teachers to become permanent then it should not be at the council’s discretion whether or not it is honoured. It is very stressful trying to find work in order to maintain continuous, and for it not to be honoured in the end is extremely disheartening.
