It is soul destroying that after 5 years of teaching I still don’t have a permanent job. I have spent 5 years on day to day supply unable to make any plans for the future.
Now I’m in the position of not only fighting for supply with the retired teachers supplementing their pension but also with newly qualified teachers who are cheaper. My LA also appears to give priority to teachers who did their probation year with them when permanent positions come up.
