I have a permanent part-time post but as an ASN teacher not a primary teacher. Training should reflect the needs of the three areas: secondary, primary, ASN.

Numbers entering university need to reflect the available job vacancies after graduation.

A three year job commitment would just delay the problem not change the fact that too many teachers are being trained. There still wouldn’t be jobs to move into after 3 years.

I have applied for other full time jobs as a teacher of 10 years plus SQA/QS marker and item writer and not been successful and sometimes not even had an interview, there have been over 100 applicants for a post at times.
