The current system is completely unsuitable. There are far too many qualified teachers currently who cannot obtain jobs and no support in dual qualification for subjects that are struggling. Even with dual qualification people are still being left without permanent work after spending more money to get necessary university credits to dual qualify.
There needs to be a pause on training of new teachers and a bigger drive to get more of us who are already qualified into permanent positions as this has a positive impact on both teachers and pupils.
