The whole situation is just a disgrace. Teachers NEED teaching jobs. Schools NEED teachers. End of story. I know up to 10 people who secure temporary jobs year upon year in the same schools – there is obviously then a need for a permanent teacher? The council are so backwards.
In addition to this, the proposed guarantee for new teachers is a kick in the teeth to all of the already qualified teachers who have been waiting years for a permanent job. How about supporting them first before newly qualified teachers? There is an inevitable injustice there.
